had c-sec 2 1/2 yrs ago w/ my twins. Due w/ #3 at the end of August? Thinking, if all goes well, of having a vbac. Any thoughts from those who have btdt? I'm 40. A little worried about incontinence after a vaginal delivery. Also, any advice of how to best prepare for a vaginal delivery? Lamaze? TIA Delivering at Cornell. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

ask your doc about what he/she recomends and think about what you want out of it. When I had #2 after an emergency C, my doc said it was safest to have a repeat c. I said fine. Eveyrone is dif though [ Reply | More ]

OB says has as long as my water breaks on my own, and labor progresses normally w/ no pitocin, and the baby is head down, I can try for a VBAC [ Reply | More ]

incontinence can happen after c-sections too - I wouldn't factor that in one way or the other. [ Reply | More ]

my OB did not want me to try VBAC -- said risk of uterine rupture was not worth it. I concluded that I agreed with him. [ Reply | More ]

I had a c-section with twins and then had avbac with my third. It was great. My advice is to take bradley and plan for an unmedicated birth so that nothing interferes with the heart rate and they dont rush you into c-section. Thats what I did and I was out of the hospital the next day. GL!! [ Reply | More ]

I have to admit, if I have time for an epidural, I'll probably want one! That said, is it too late for me to take classes? I'm due at the end of Aug. Also, I know my age will be a factor. May I ask how old you were when you had twins and then the vbac? TIA for any and all additional advice. [ Reply | More ]

Are you still on? You should seriously consider hiring a doula. Your chances of vbac go up significantly if you labor at home as long as possible. BTDT (at Cornell last week). It's so worth it--not even a question, imo. And fwiw, you're statistically more likely to have incontinence after a c-section. [ Reply | More ]

You can totally do it! I had my first ds by c-section and my second ds VBAC. It was great. I was actually induced 9 days early to give me the best chance, had pitocin, and he was born just fine! He is currently 10 months (almost) and healthy and beautiful. It was the best thing I could have ever done! Good luck! Oh--#1 and #2 are three years apart almost exactly! [ Reply | More ]
