Dumb question, sorry.... My dad will be watching db for a few days, but he doesn't have a carseat base. Is it safe to just seatbelt in the carseat w/o it's base? I suppose yes, but I have never done this before. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

can you take it to the local fire station? Where I live, they install them properly. Or maybe you can call and ask them. [ Reply | More ]

I have a Baby Trend, and there is a (quite confusing) illustration on the side that shows how to seatbelt the carseat in.... but I'm just wondering if anyone has done this. My dad is VERY good with instructions, pragmatic etc, but I'm seeing who has btdt... [ Reply | More ]

we had the graco snugride, and it came with instructions for use both with and without the base. we used it without (which is said to be safer anyway) b/c the base wouldn't fit in our car. [ Reply | More ]

I did this all the time with my Graco Snugride. If it's done properly, it's safe. [ Reply | More ]

it is safer actually than with base since base latches may not always be hooked in properly. [ Reply | More ]

you crazy lady. Its safe, you just strap the seatbelt over the "bucket". How do you think people take babies in taxis in NYC? [ Reply | More ]

it's fine - there should be a sticker right on the side of the seat that shows you how to thread the seatbelt. [ Reply | More ]
