Really? You think they're less accountable than bigger daycares? They rarely get busted for neglect or abuse, but often for failure to file the correct paperwork, having multiple exits, etc. No one checks to see if they're good places for children. [ Reply | More

i'm actually starting in the fall. i chose b/c i wah and dd will be just over 1. it's in my bldg and is only 8 dbs, all within her age range. i like that it is close to my apt and dd will be socializing more. [ Reply | More

I do. The daycare center is based in someone's home in their walk out basement. They've been there for about 25 years and as a kid I was best friends with the owner's daughter. I chose this option because I couldn't afford to have my part time nanny stay full time and I needed to go back to work. I went to a number of "regular" day care centers and saw only one that I could afford and liked (loved!) - I am still on their crazy long waiting list. [ Reply | More
