has your relationship changed with your mother since you had children? mine has gotten worse. she can't take that i'm really an adult. are there any books out there on this sort of thing? i don't know how to relate to her anymore and i don't have a good role model for mothering. although, if i do say so myself, i'm doing a pretty good job! mine has gotten much bettdr, but it was in trouble before. in a way i feel like she can express herself so nicely with my dd, but not with me, so when i witness her being good with my dd it makes me appreciate her. [ Reply | More

interesting - i think mine has got better. to be honest she is a bit nutty anyway, and already has several grandchildren, but has made a real effort with my son and i think she saw the birth as a chance to be closer to me. We are pretty much aligned on values etc and she isn't that controlling tho [ Reply | More

mine is very controlling and has always wanted to baby me and now she babies my daughter who, as she grows and becomes her own person, doesn't want to be controlled. she's 2. makes me so annoyed! but my mom won't listen. [ Reply | More
