we are moving from ncy to the suburbs and our nanny wants to come with us... i am afraid she will be disappointed with how slow it is, not just walking to the park, lots of kids just playing in backyard.. anyone have a good outcome with nanny coming? she would live in 4 nights a week, was her thought. if she is good, you should at least try it out. less change for your kids etc. Whats the harm? If she hates it, she will let you know and you'll find someone else (which you would have to do anyway) [ Reply | More ]

One set of friends took their nanny with them, but she commuted (to Pelham) and it worked out well, but it was only for a year before they moved away. Other friends took theirs to Summit and it didn't work out at all, but in some ways I think that it brought certain things to light that should have come out anyway and that it wasn't about the suburbs specifically. op: thanks. she would commute by train two hours. but we would be keeping her pay high $800 week to live in, paying train, but we would lessen her work week, she would work 4 days instead of 5. [ Reply | More ]
