1.2 miscarriages this year and pregnant again, doc said I could come in for early screening when I got pregnant again. Is there any point to this? is there anything that they can really do to prevent miscarriage? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

it depends on what the cause of the miscarriage was. there are things they can look for that, if caught early enough, will make a difference. [ Reply | More

^^^whoops. sounds like he's on top of things. some doctors won't even start testing until three miscarriages. i recently had a miscarriage after healthy pregnancies and i'm terrified. i want to ttc asap but i'm worried about what caused the miscarriage adn what i can do to make things go more smoothly. I have a history too, and my doc said at one point, if you are going to miscarry because there is something wrong with the baby, there is nothing we can do. If you re going to miscarry for another reason, we may be able to stop it. Did you do any testing the other losses to determine the cause? [ Reply | More

if your progesterone is low, they give you progesterone, and they think that helps. obviously if the problem is something like a chromosomal abnormality, there's nothing they can do about that. I'm sorry for your losses (BTDT) [ Reply | More
