I am so confused, my OPK says that the 2 lines mean I will ovulate within 24-48 hours... when should I try? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

not much... according to my ob, it's a bit of a rip off. The only thing it really helps is to know that you are ovulating, few women who don't ovulate produce the hormone. It also helps you to establish a pattern. If you keep track of when you ovulate, than you can more easily predict in advance when you will ovulate, the same way you would do if you are temping. It can also be helpful if you can have sex as soon as you get the positive, but I'm assuming your dh is at work right now. [ Reply | More

No problem. For what it's worth, the old fashioned advice of having sex every other day is the best, and once you get a positive on the opk, have sex once more and call it a month. I know how hard this is when you have an irregular cycle. This is going to sound gross, but when I'm ttc I track my cervical mucus instead, it changes a couple days before you ovulate. [ Reply | More
