looking for baby swing that is a nice, simple, design. any recommendations? does an aesthetically-pleasing swing exist? (trying to avoid the super-cute, crazy-patterned baby stuff as much as possible). tia. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Fisher Price Papasan (sp?) has neutral colors and my dd used for a very long time. [ Reply | More ]

I also didn't want the room to look like a daycare center, so I had a fisher price one that folded up (not sure of the name). It was still ugly but I slid it under the sofa or put it in the closet. I rotated the baby gear. DD didn't really like any swing or seat anyway! The Oeuf is less ugly. [ Reply | More ]

Graco makes a frame that you can stick the car seat in and turn it into a swing. If you want it hidden most of the time, that is a good option. [ Reply | More ]

not trying to flame, but I would think more about what the baby will be most interested in looking at/responsive to. After all, db is going to be the one sitting in it and staring. [ Reply | More ]

i know what you mean, but the rest of us have to live with it too. ;-) we're just extra sensitive, visually (i'm a designer, dh is an artist). we'll make sure that db has some good things to stare at. [ Reply | More ]

The baby isn't staring at the seat, he is staring at the toys, so just add the toys he likes. [ Reply | More ]

as a parent, you need to learn that at some point, it isn't about you. it is also for a short period of time [ Reply | More ]

of course, i know...but it also doesn't hurt to have a choice between super-ugly baby gear and something that is visually nicer. [ Reply | More ]

jeez, do you really think that your kid is going to care if he is in a bright green chair versus a nice looking one. [ Reply | More ]

FWIW, had two kids and never had a swing. Small apartment, did not even want to to there. [ Reply | More ]

from op: my first never had a swing either, but will be bringing #2 with me to our office sometimes, and i'm thinking a swing could be better than just a bouncy seat somehow. [ Reply | More ]
