i would say there is definately tutoring at LL for 4th grade tests but there is the same level of tutoring at 6, 234, 199, 290, 158, etc - so it doesn't completely account for the difference against other strong schools [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Exactly. If you only admit kids that test well to begin with of course you ought to produce better results than schools that take everyone living in the zone. [ Reply | More ]

150 is a very small school. the chances that a kid that is admitted to 150 is a lemon is really small. [ Reply | More ]

LL has really strong 4th grade teachers and I would say a very even/ academically strong grade. I did not hear of many parents getting tutoring for math this year. They were very prepared. They have a very heavy homework load in 4th grade but it pays off. The 4th grade test is very important to LL kids because almost all of them move onto g&t middle schools. [ Reply | More ]
