This is my first time blogging so excuse whatever I might be doing wrong. I am a mother's helper in downtown New York during the week to four adorable little children. I am here by my lonesome. I will not be working with the family over the summer but will return to them once the school year begins. My boyfriend's father told me I am getting too attached to the kids and I very well may be. I guess spending time with them and the fact that I miss my family makes me vulnerable to any type of affection. Any suggestions on how to control this or make sure the kid's parents aren't freaked out by me? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Do you think the parents are feeling that way now? Why do you think that? [ Reply | More ]

I'm not sure that they are. But I'll bring the kids something once in a while, I wanted my boyfriend to meet them. I'm used to hugging and kissing and while I do that with the kids the mother has never leaned over and gave me a hug or a kiss. I know I'm a big softy but it's all a result of me having divorced parents and roller coaster like friendships and relationships... [ Reply | More ]

It is hard not to get attached to kids that you are spending so much time with. I'm not sure what I would do in your place, but I know that it would be hard for me too. [ Reply | More ]
