The OLSAT has a low ceiling. A 99 on the OLSAT is not equivalent to a 99 on the SB. I don't think there are 447 SB 99's. In past years, if you figure that mostly everyone who took the onsite at Anderson took it at Hunter and the same people who apply to Anderson this year would apply in previous years, that's around 300 kids in an Anderson onsite when they made teh SB cutoff 95. Even if the new system brought in more kids from other boroughs, that's not enough to reach 447. As I said - the OLSAT has a low ceiling. And the Bracken Readiness Test was designed to identify verbal learning disabilities, so only the DOE would use it as a screener for gifted children. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Anderson had a little over 400 kids 95% on SB the last year (2 years ago) when it was used, from a citywide base. [ Reply | More ]
