Fall bday. Better to take ERB this summer and know scores before calling for applications? Or allow DC to settle into school in the fall and take ERB. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

wait until your db is older - better chance for better score [ Reply | More ]

np; depends. Boys usually wait. Girls, if smart, take early doesn't hurt. Might boost score when compared with other kids in the age category if the dc is mature for age. [ Reply | More ]

If your dc is smart & mature for age (other people comment on your dc, not you or your family), take it in the summer. Having the score helped a lot when choosing where to apply. If ERB was 90, I would not have applied to TTs. [ Reply | More ]

Teachers have told us dc is very bright, exceptionally verbal and oddly analytical for a 4+ year old. Just doubting if the maturity is there. Still very nervous around strangers and with new experiences. I'm thinking wait. [ Reply | More ]

I had my dd take it early (same feedback) and got 99x3. But dd is not a particularly shy child. She separated easily which is noted in the ERB report which schools pay attention to. If she is shy, maybe wait. But if you think she may not grow out of shyness in 2-3 months (which is still a short amount of time to change personality), I would do it now. [ Reply | More ]

>only bec ERB office gets really full in the fall (or your school). In the spring.summer, ERB has lots of openings and you can choose the best time for your dd. I chose 10:30am or something like that which was best for my dd. Later, you may not have a choice and be assigned terrible times around lunch or nap times. [ Reply | More ]

plus if you have a shy/nervous child you have time to work on those issues so that he/she in a good place when tested. [ Reply | More ]

In the last 2 months she's made great strides in that area. I think I may wait a few more. So all I will be doing is making a few extra phone calls on 9/2. :) [ Reply | More ]

in that case, it's worth the wait. But you have to call in August to schedule for September. One month early. GL! [ Reply | More ]

Thanks. I had actually already scheduled it for early August online. You can make the changes online, too. [ Reply | More ]
