Just want to say, Thank God for surgical glue. DS got a messy cut below his lip the other day, and stitches would have been so much more traumatic for him! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

right? my dd got a cut on her forehead; we waited 5 hours in the emergency room, where everyone said "oh, she'd be a perfect candidate for surgical glue". Too bad they were all out. They had to put her in the equivalent of a straight jacket for three stitches. I'm not sure who was more traumatized, her or dh and me (she was 18 mo at the time) [ Reply | More ]

Oh, that's awful. We were "lucky" I guess. We only had a 2-hour wait, and they had the surgical glue. Mount Sinai pediatric emergency in Manhattan.... Friend recommended we head there, and I am very grateful! [ Reply | More ]

we went to the pediatric ER at Cornell (recommended by ped) -- the wait was undoubtedly due to the fact that it was the day of the Puerto Rican day parade -- the ER was packed. Anyway, dd doesn't remember any of it (she's now 4) but I sure do! Glad things worked out for your ds -- bad cuts are no fun no matter how they get fixed. [ Reply | More ]

Yep. Thanks. I'm glad it was OK for your dd in the end. My little sis had stitches something like 4 times by the time she was 7. I'm hoping my ds is less accident prone! [ Reply | More ]
