My newborn is very quiet and content, but when he gets hungry he goes crazy and cries so hard he gags and throws up. This all happens within a matter of a few minutes. My other children could cry loud, but never gagged or threw up. If I can't get the milk in his mouth fast enough there is usually a scene with puke and choking. He refuses to drink from a bottle, so I feel a bit like I am being held prisoner. Is there any way to counter this other than trying to act as quickly as possible or do I just have to put up with it? At what age will it end? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Pre-empt the hunger with a strict feeding schedule? [ Reply | More ]

He is on a pretty good schedule, but he has many times where he gets hungry off the schedule or is going through a growth spurt and this is where/when the gagging/puking episodes typically happen. [ Reply | More ]
