Anyone know anything about cholestasis during pregnancy? I have been itchy for about 2 weeks. Started with the belly but has spread to upper and form arms. No rash, tiny bumps show up occasionally though- almost invisible.... I read some scary stuff online about what it could be! 37 weeks PG. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i had ezcema late in pregnancy and it was brutal. derm said it was technically unrelated to pregnancy but i don't buy it. friend had cholestasis and hers was worse than mine. delivered her a bit early b/c of it - since there is a very slightly higher risk of stillborn with it. doc will be able to tell if that's what you have and as long as you feel movement, don't worry until you talk to your doc. ^^^should specify so you don't panic: they delivered her 2 weeks early - not very early. [ Reply | More ]

I had cholestasis; the itching was worst around my belly but became generalized. This was at around 37 weeks. It took several days to get the test results and went for fetal monitoring every day. At 38w2d they diagnosed and induced immediately. My 5 mo. DS was fine and the itchiness disappeared as soon as I delivered. As long as it's diagnosed quickly, you and your DB will be fine. GL. ^^^the standard practice, I think, is to induce at 38 weeks. really, it will be ok. [ Reply | More ]
