Thankfully I am not involved in this nonsense this year, but I find it appalling that people don't know where their children will be going to school in the Fall and it is the last week of school. [ Reply | More ]

Do you mean have people with children entering K in a general ed school received the name or classroom number? That ususally happens in July. No need to have it sooner. [ Reply | More ]

Are you talking about magnet school lottery like Manhattan School for Children? MSC already sent letters. Not sure about zoned schools like 87 or 199. [ Reply | More ]

She's talking about those people who participated in a lottery for the various schools (some districts, like D1, don't have zoned schools that you automatically get into, so you need to rank your preferences.) I live in D1, and have gotten no official letter, though the school called and invited us to register and told us to keep it quiet. I'd call the schools you applied to, and barring that, email Jimmy Bueschen (sp?) at the DOE. He's in charge in D1, anyway. SO FRUSTRATING. [ Reply | More ]

Yes--they weren't supposed to say anything but I'm guessing they felt that if they didn't let at least some parents know they'd be there all summer registering people. [ Reply | More ]
