can anyone tell me about how many times a day your 8 wk old ate- for breastfeeding? my ds weighs around 12 pds+ and i'm trying to figure out some sort of schedule for him/me with eating and sleeping... i know they say he sets the schedule and i'm not trying to force him into anything but would love to see a pattern... also desperately need sleep! Dd was 8-10x per day at that age. at 8wks you'd be extremely lucking to already be getting sleep, sorry to say. how often is he waking at night? [ Reply | More ]

he's waking twice during the nite... and i think we are feeding around 7-8 times a day... i'm just so paranoid that he isn't getting enough to eat... he doesn't sleep very well during the day either which is another problem. [ Reply | More ]

my child is about the same age and weight. I feed him (breastfeed) 5x day - every four hours, once in the middle of the night - he usually sleeps 2 six hour stretches. I tried both the 3 hour and 4 hour schedules and 4 hour worked better for everyone, despite what my ped said. In the last two weeks naps have become more regular. [ Reply | More ]
