depends on the baby. typically, they sit first and then crawl. my dd sat at 6mo, and now at 7mo is learning to crawl. my ds, on the other hand, started crawling before 6mo and didn't sit until almost 8mo. [ Reply | More ]

np: Wow, I thought they had to learn to sit to develop the muscles to crawl, interesting to hear that so many babies actually crawled first [ Reply | More ]

my ds crawled first, too. I mean, he could stay sitting if you put him that way, and could get from sitting to standing (pulling up) but couldnt get from laying down to sitting until a day or 2 after the crawling happend. [ Reply | More ]

My dd sat at 7 mos (like normal) but didn't crawl until 12 mos (later than most). The kicker is that she never rolled over until 9 mos. which is really late. Thankfully, she's a happy and normal 2 year old now, but you wouldn't believe how crazy I made myself that she wasn't hitting the milestones when the books told me she was supposed to. OP: my first dd was like that except that she never crawled! she started "ass-crawling" at 10 months. [ Reply | More ]
