I am 36.....I married my college sweetheart 3 weeks after graduation and the next year we had twin sons. My DH passed away 7 weeks later. Three years after that, I remarried and we had 2 sons (not twins). My second DH passed away. A year afgter that, I remarried again, had a son and then my third DH died. Now I am 36 and have twin 13 year old sons, a 9 year old son, a 7 year old son and a 5 year old son. I met this new man, a great guy, love him a lot. I want something to develop but I am scared he won't want a three times widowed woman with 4 kids. What do I do? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It's a totally understandable fear, because you've been through a lot. But I doubt that he's going to run away b/c of the three husbands. Now I can't guarantee that he's going to be able to handle that many boys, but that's for him to decide. [ Reply | More

Northern Exposure character (90s show). Every boyfriend died untimely deaths. It was a good show full of complicated characters. Your life seems like it has been truly difficult. I can't imagine losing a husband but having to explain to your eldest boy 3 times now that they are fatherless...that's profound. Just be crystal clear with the new man. Perhaps establish some relationship rules for yourself that you can live with regarding commitment levels and long-term goals. Do you wnat to remarry again or just date?
