I wouldn't nurse or cosleep for so long. I was really all about Dr. Sears at the beginning. In hindesight, I would integrate a lot of other "suggestions" as well. [ Reply | More

Initially we set a timer, but not I just say that I will stay for 15 minutes. She used to fight it, but now she will stay in bed quietly. I am much tougher with her sister--she's just put in the crib, and is easier for it. [ Reply | More

try not to blame yourself. I seriously doubt a little wine caused the LD. We had a child with a heart defect and I obsessed about all the things I did "wrong". My doc told me that when a pg has a good outcome, the mom forgets all the little things she did like eat tuna or have a glass of wine. But when something goes wrong, we tend to obsess about every little thing. Give yourself a break [ Reply | More

actually, kids born to mothers that even casually drank during pregnancy do have higher risks for LD. It is why I won't even though a lot of people around me do. Why risk blaming yourself? [ Reply | More
