Real Estate/Moving question: DH and I are moving soon and are thinking of moving to one of the co-ops on FDR and Grand street in LOHO. We're going to have a baby soon and I wonder if I will feel totally isolated and will be making a HUGE mistake. We want to stay in NYC if possible and would consider brooklyn, but for our $$$, this seems to be the biggest bang for our buck. HELP! Many thanks! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

We had friends who lived there with babies/toddlers and they really liked it. It is a little bit out of the way in terms of subway access, so just make sure you consider your commutes and the commute of a potential nanny. My friends said, that below 96th street, that part of the LES and the very far east UES were the best "bang for your buck". [ Reply | More ]

thanks so much. Just curious, my DH and I are in our early 30s...were your friends around the same age, did they make friends with kids around the same age? [ Reply | More ]
