We are moving to a different zone and I was going to try to apply to pre-K in our new zone for Round 2, but my new zoned school is not on the Round 2 list. There must be some way to get on a wait list at the new school, there must be a few accepts that might not pan out for whatever reason (a family might move or whatever). Nobody at the school nor at the district office seems to know what to do. Anybody out there have any insight? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Quickly, go to school in person. Talk to parent coordinator, make him/her aware of how much you want a spot and ask your name be placed on a list. Then in September when people don't show (many don't, they just decide to stay in preschool and don't bother to tell the school) you might slide in that way. Also, call after a couple of weeks in September and again in October - that is when they kick out the kids who they want in special needs programs. Good luck. [ Reply | More ]
