If you or DH has been laid off from Wall Street. Did you get part of anticipated bonus as part of your severance package? Or only salary for x months? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

DH was let go in Oct and as par tof his neogtiated deal, recieved a 10.12 bonus and one year pay and $$$ for cobra for that time. But he was there a long time and was let go as a management power play, not for cause, loss of revenue or down sizing..... [ Reply | More

I have been laid of twice. In neither case did I get a pro-rata of my anticipated bonus. I got WARN, salary and benefits for X mos, immediate vesting of stock grants and options, and outplacement. I consulted an attorney each time, and was advised that a pro-rata of bonus is almost impossible to get without an employment contract that stipulates it as a term of severance. [ Reply | More

No problem. You should consult an attorney if you have a garden leave agreement, a non-compete, or any other agreements that may impact future employment. Especially if you live/work outside of NY. [ Reply | More
