Just posted this and it disappeared. I'm still not used to the new board. I have an itchy scalp, but doctor says it's not lice. It feels better when I take anti-histamines. I'm still not convinced it's not lice, and it's driving me crazy. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

There are places in NYC that can check you for lice. Just go. [ Reply | More ]

go and get the lice shampoo from the pharmacy. Unfortunately, if it is lice you are also going to have to clean the house very throughly, otherwise they will come back.. [ Reply | More ]

OP here. I'm not sure I have lice (doctor didn't see anything, and my kid's head is clean) so I don't want to do shampoo yet. Also, I'm wondering if the fact that it stops itching when I take anti-histamines means it's something else. [ Reply | More ]

It couldn't hurt, but if you don't know the cause, it is a toss up to start medicating. It could be that your scalp is really dry. [ Reply | More ]
