question for posters who claim they will send their "fall" dc private and repeat k due to dissatisfaction of g&t placement. your dc already took the erb eventhough you can't apply for private until next fall? you can take the erb a year in advance? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i would assume that you would wait until the last possible moment to retake the ERB as the older you are the smarter you are. [ Reply | More ]

i guess i'm confused b/c private has a cutoff so why would anyone have their dc take the erb now along with sb and olsat if their private application process doesn't start until later this year. [ Reply | More ]

Many schools request ERB earlier. Also you can plan ahead.i.e. you think HM is your first choice and request application in September. But if you know your DC's score already in fall and DC got 92. Why bother to apply HM, or TTs? You need to know the score before you apply. [ Reply | More ]

ERBS are normed for age range--expectations are higher for older kids. Young verbal kids may get a boost from taking the test on the early side. [ Reply | More ]

It's okay to take ERB once a year. She probably tried for prek, so dc had to take it. [ Reply | More ]

The ERB is offered once per admission season. The season runs from April of one year until March of the following year. Thus you could have your summer child take it the fall after they turn 4 and then again (if you don't get a school) in the spring or summer or fall before or after the turn 5. [ Reply | More ]
