2.6 dd asked to wear her big girl underwear yesterday. no accidents. every thirty minutes was put on the potty. peed three times .. no poop. anyway. only accident was at night eating dinner. we knew she needed to go but she didn't want to stop eating. anyway, we said oh well it's an accident. today new days and she went on the potty every thirty minutes...for 5-10 minutes...no pee....within 5 minutes of getting off she has an accident. i'm totally frustrated and ready to ditch the whole thing. I don't want to punish her for accidents of course but i feel like she holds it in on the potty and they pees once she gets off. and yeah, could care less that he's in wet underwear. wwyd/. not a bad idea. you wait to potty train until you can do it without any issues. if there are issues, then she's not ready. ask any ped. [ Reply | More

I think maybe every 30 mins is too much. I would remind her and ask her if she needs to go, every 30 mins, but don't put her on there so often. It will become an annoyance for her, and then a control thing. Accidents are bound to happen, but in this case she is doing it on purpose. Either put her in diapers for a few more weeks and try again, or just know that accidents will happen, always carry around a change of clothes (for girls it's so much easier when they wear dresses, as only the underwear needs to be changed).
