Anyone want to diagnose me? Horrible joint pain and rash for 5 days. Now I have 102.5 fever for the last 48 hours? Doctors have no clue. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

If you were tested on Tuesday, you do not have the results yet. I was in the hospital on IV antibiotics for 5 days then oral antibiotics for another two months. I was sick for about 6 weeks total. [ Reply | More

They didn't do a blot test, which is the gold standard. Go see your primary care physician or an ID specialist. [ Reply | More

I'd continue to go to the MD -- maybe ask for a different panel of tests (or a retest -- lab errors do happen!). The joint pain and rash makes me (a non-MD!!) wonder if it's some sort of autoimmune issue. (I have rheumatoid issues and I was originally diagnosed when I had a funky rash.) GL. [ Reply | More

Maybe go to a rheumatologist. My "issues" are broad and unspecified -- but my levels come back very high (whatever that means!) and I continue to get monitored by a rheumatologist. In my case, it's not a "big deal" -- I don't have symptoms (I don't have joint pain) and I'm not on meds. GL. [ Reply | More
