An osetopath is not a "MD" but they are equally qualified to do any medical procedure, diagnosis, prescribe medicine, etc. - they are both physicians. The big difference is the school they went to, otherwise the residencies, fellowships, etc. are the same and in fact, in many of the NYC hospitals the physicians are DOs. [ Reply | More ]

yes there is a D.O school and MD school. Think of Progressive vs Traditional (schooling). It's all about the philosophy and way it's taught. Also DO's are more likely to take the less invasive approach to treating. I know many DO's and MD's..I trust them equally..it all depends on the pracitioner not the letters following the name (imo) [ Reply | More ]

i would not see an DO unless I've also seen a good MD. I put on par with a chiropractor. [ Reply | More ]

you consider a DO on par with a chiropractor? This is so IGNORANT. You really should read up on DO's. I can't believe someone actually believes this. Who misinformed you? [ Reply | More ]

np: you do realize it doesn't matter (like poster above) the letters after their name but the practioner themselves. I have both MD and DO in my family and they are all equally capable of excellent treatment. In fact the DO in my family is the smartest out of all (including the MD's). He's brilliant..the effortless type of brilliant [ Reply | More ]
