It's crazy to put "real" (read $$) art in dc's room, yes? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I have real art in ds's room. Paintings by his grandfather and great-great-uncles. [ Reply | More ]

Do you worry? The art in question is very expensive, and I just feel like I won't be as comfortable as I am now just letting the kids play unsupervised in their room. [ Reply | More ]

I don't worry. In theory, it should be in a humidity controlled environment. But I would rather ds enjoy his grandfather and great-great-uncles' work than preserve the work to museum standards. I would NOT, however, use heavy frames that could hurt ds if he pulled them off the wall. [ Reply | More ]

ds' room has very high ceilings; i have some of my paintings in there and artwork by some famous (in the art world) friends - i just try and put them in places where there is a bit of a blockade and i have them secured very well [ Reply | More ]

depends on how old. I wouldn't do it when they are young (you never know what they'll do) but once they are a bit older (8?) it could be a great way for them to be proud and take an interest in the arts. [ Reply | More ]
