DH & I are both antisocial misanthropes, but DS has always been very outgoing and had lots of friends. He'll be starting K in the fall, though, and worried that he'll withdraw due to all of the new people. He's been friends with the same core group of kids for his whole life. At school interviews, he's tended to clam up. Am I being neurotic about this? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

don't worry about it -- the K teacher wants all the kids to get to know each other -- lots of group projects and "station" learning -- he'll get to socialize and meet new kids very easily. [ Reply | More ]

nothing you can do about it anyway. sounds like he has been very sheltered and has a hard time adjusting relative to the average 4 yo. once he is with the same group for awhile, seems he will eventually adjust...until the next change [ Reply | More ]

I think I remember your posts during the private process. You were worried about the parent interviews. How did it go? Did you get a private accept? [ Reply | More ]

not sure if that was me--a few of us seemed to post about this--anyway, he did get a spot, but we passed on it for G&T. [ Reply | More ]
