dh turns 40 next week . we have a 3 yr old and 3 week old baby. dh wants a night out with the boys and i have said no because its all new at home...is that unreasonable [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I'd let him go. If it were your first kid only 3 wks old, that's a little different. But by now, you've been through the newborn phase before, and while things may be tough for the 3 yo (and you may be sleep deprived), he's just talking about a night out, not a weekend away. [ Reply | More

you're being totally unreasonable, but then again, you have all those postpartum hormones pumping through you. if you think it's going to be a tough night, just hire a sitter to be with you. maybe she can help you with the feeds, changing the kids, whatever... plus, you might feel a little more comfortable with some back-up.
