Any reason why there is so much competition among women? I can understand from a biological perspective about competing over men - but schools, kids, jobs, professional/personal success...? What drives us to keep other women down? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i think women are taught to be insecure in order to keep them in the old fashioned place of being subservient. all the attention on clothes, homes, jobs etc etc takes away from the full drive to truly suceed. men are also competitive, but it's of a different sort. no where near as catty and they truly believe they are they best (for the most part). i'll talk to my good friends about these things. bc in those cases, it is truly for support. we can air our feelings, insecuirites etc and there no negative competition. thankfully, htese days, i don't have many friends with whom I feel strongly competitive or catty. [ Reply | More
