Do public schools do a transition when kids start K or do they start with a full day right from the start? Wondering about NEST, specifically. Thanks! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

IT is a full day either the first or second day - they don't do this absurdly long transition that privates do. [ Reply | More ]

That's a silly generalization. My dc's private school has full day from the third day on. The Neighborhood School (a public school in the East Village) has a transition period that goes on for weeks, starting with an hour or so per day. [ Reply | More ]

PS 150 does two half days the first two days in school and then full time starting on the third day. [ Reply | More ]

Most of the time the two first days are half days, the third is a full day. [ Reply | More ]

Depends on the school. PS87 does 1 hour the first day, 1/2 day the next 3 days. The following week they start full time. [ Reply | More ]
