dd has hand, foot, and mouth disease. it is awful. i feel so bad for her. i can't figure out where she got it. she stays at home with me and we have not been around other kids. anyone know how long she will be contagious? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

its from fecal matter- you may not have washed your hands well after a diaper change...contagious issue is debatable, some peds say until sores heal, Ive heard others as well [ Reply | More ]

I believe it is the same as Coxsackie virus, only some do not get the hand and foot part. DD had it recenty too and she is also not in school . Weird. [ Reply | More ]

My year old nephew and his year old cousin (other side of family) both had it...my nephew is little anyway, but lost some weight. I think he was not contagious long. He's much better now (2 mos. later) [ Reply | More ]

I read they are contagious for a week. But it can stay in there feces for months, so be careful when changing them. My son has it and he gave it to me - not fun. [ Reply | More ]
