My coworker and I were talking about being breastfed and I didn't know if I had been. There was a time period in the 70s where the formula companies had mothers thinking it was better to bottle feed with 'enriched' formula. I was born in 70 and mom BF me, but she was an immigrant. DH and his sister were born 71 and 74 and MIL tried to BF DH and failed and then went on to BF SIL. I think there was definitely increase in the popularity of BF among the more "hippie" types. [ Reply | More
