I am trying to potty train a very resistant 2.8 yr old ds. He screams whenever we try to do it...I have not pushed it at all, and we have a new baby which i am assuming is influencing his readiness to try things. My MIL is constantly asking me how it's going, like she knows all the answers (i raised 3 kids, they were all potty trained before age 3 blah blah). I am trying to be relaxed about it, but he is SO resistant. Any btdt, or advice? thanks [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

tell your mil that all kids are different. tell her you are going to take a break from potty training and you will let her know when you start again so she can help you at that time. then, try to avoid letting her know when you do start again. neither you nor ds need the pressure. [ Reply | More
