13 y.o. is old enough to ride your bike a bit away from home, right? neighbor is riding back and forth in front of my house on a straightaway that is less than a block long. has been going back and forth for over 30 min - causing my dog to bark and waking the baby up. i know he has the right to ride on his own street but does at this age couldn't he cruise around the whole neighborhood? no. his mom already hates me b/c i told her dd i wish she would try to get along with our other neighbor rather than leave every time the neighbor came to our house. i can't imagine how the mom would interpret me asking her ds not to torture my dog by riding past our house over and over for 45 minutes. maybe stop trying to control everything in your environment? [ Reply | More ]

i'm not asking the kid to stop. i'm just trying to figure out why a kid that age would even be interested in riding his bike this way. my 7 y.o. gets bored with this little strip in front of our house and begs to be allowed to ride further. she'd never ride back and forth for so long on such a small area. i guess you've never wished aloud that something that woke your db up hadn't happened if you thin my post means i'm controlling my environment. lol. my dh is always complaining about how his mom bought him a bike when he was younger and only let him ride in the driveway. [ Reply | More ]

I imagine that his parents don't want him going futher from home. He's probably bored with nothing to do on his summer vacation, give him a break. Or, if you want to engage him, ask if he needs something to do and offer to pay him to do something like mow your lawn (might be a good idea to speak with him mom first) [ Reply | More ]
