Have you taken tours of both? that might help. FWIW, I delivered at the SLR birthing center and loved it--but no experience with the general l&d floor. [ Reply | More

I delivered at Mt. Sinai - it's pretty cramped, dingy and in general not nice. That said - the medical care itself is among the best in the city and if your friend is high risk in any way it's a good choice. There's also a new(ish) floor that is supposed to be nicer but I didn't get on it. [ Reply | More
