What are people finding out about free busing options to/from citywide schools (Anderson, NEST and TAG) within Manhattan? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

the yellow school bus has a limit of 5 miles radius from home to school. I don't know if that rule has changed or not. if you live beyond 5 miles, your dc will be given a metro card [ Reply | More

OP: I checked the website for the eligibility requirements ( http://www.opt-osfns.org/opt/eligibility/default.asp ), but I could not find anywhere mentioning a 5 mile limit. Where did you get the 5 mile rule from? [ Reply | More

It was mentioned at the G&T hearing last year. But while touring NEST, there was talk about that they increased the distance covered due to the citywide program. [ Reply | More

We've been trying to find out the deal with NEST, and getting conflicting information. One person told us that the buses won't go north of 60th street on the west side. Still no firm commitment from anyone, waiting to have calls returned. Haven't gotten much information on private buses either. [ Reply | More
