OP: He fell forward and I grabbed his arm and pulled backwards to right him. He would have been better off if I had let him fall. [ Reply | More ]

I pushed him. Not hard, but still. I felt so awful. I was really at the end of my rope but of course that's no excuse! [ Reply | More ]

I accidently poured boiling water over his stomach while bathing him. He was 3 weeks old. We ended up in the burn unit. Never bathe your baby in the kitchen.... [ Reply | More ]

Oh, how terrifying for you! Especially as a new parent (assuming he was your first?). [ Reply | More ]

That happened to a friend of mine and social services came in to investigate them. [ Reply | More ]

np: as they should! I'm sure your friends were cleared and good to go, but that is a pretty big deal. [ Reply | More ]

Yes he was my first - he is 4 now and is fine - the skin healed very well - he sometimes gets a heat rash where the burn was but there is really no scaring. It was awful - I lost what little confidence I had. My stomach still turns when I think about the actual moment it happened. I didn't have have any visits from social services or anything like that. I had boiled some water for sterilizing pacifiers - I was using the same cup to pour water over db and I picked up the wrong cup. [ Reply | More ]

where to start? the most noteworthy were the time i dropped a metal ball that glanced off her head. adn the time i burnt her leg in a freak kitchen accident. i think that was both to the same kid. my other kids had more generic things...i slammed the door on ds's hand once, etc. [ Reply | More ]

I burned DS with an iron. He came into the room and I dropped the iron and as I fumbled for it, I knocked it into him. I also got burned. We both needed burn medicine. He "made" me write a note to his teachers, explaining why he had a bandage on his arm (one line of the note said: "He's fine"). We're both okay -- no scars (b/c I applied the medicine every day!
