op: sorry had to put dc to sleep. i traveled in mexico a lot before dc and never had any problems, and dh is from mexico, so i guess we both have some kind of immune protection. i bfed for more than a year, so is it possible that dc has got some of that immunity? sounds naive, i know, but it's hard to avoid tropical fruit, and we [ Reply | More ]

Wait. How old is dc? If very young, I would seriously ask ped if trip is a good idea. Diarrhea in a toddler in a little town in Mexico could be pretty bad. [ Reply | More ]

5yo, still won't be nice i agree, i just hope dc is as "sturdy" as we are, but we have a dr appointment next week prior to the trip, so I will ask for any immunizations, etc [ Reply | More ]

1)bottled water only, even to brush teeth 2) hot fresh cooked food only 3) prophylactic doses of Pepto Bismol (may help a little) 4) get your dr. to prescribe some Cipro for you before you go, so you can treat yourself if you get something really bad [ Reply | More ]

If you really love fruit, bring some iodine tablets. You can soak the fruit in iodine water to make sure it's not contaminated. This sounds a little nutty, but my df spent her honeymoon in the toilet, and she's pretty sure it was some innocent looking fruit. [ Reply | More ]

Only randomly selected 99s and siblings scoring above the 90th percentile are able to avoid Montezuma revenge. [ Reply | More ]

But tests and school placements aren't always reliable. Dh went to TT school and clocks about 180 on IQ tests, but he got explosive diarrhea on a bus in Mexico. This counterexample could call the entire G&T/selective private frameworks into question. [ Reply | More ]
