My dd started daycare this week. She's 16mo. When I go in the classroom all of the teachers are nice and say hi, but that's it. I ask, has she had a good day? They always say, "oh yes!" but it's like I have to fish for every little bit of info. They have a sheet of what she ate and when she took a nap but her day is a mystery. Today when she saw me she ran to me and clung on for dear life. I just wondered what her day was REALLY like. Is this how daycare is? I guess I was spoiled by nanny care? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

1) She is 16 mos old - my kid was saying 2 words then. 2) ask vry specific questions "Who did you sit next to at snack?", "what color did you draw with?" 3) You wont ever get much more detail no matter what you do. [ Reply | More

I think most teachers do not initiate this type of conversation b/c a lot of moms will go on for an hour talking about dc. You need to ask specific questions if you are concerned about something. [ Reply | More
