I'm new to Manhattan. Want very much to bike on the trails by the water (like the one on the Hudson river) with DS. Does anyone here use a bike trailer for their kids? TIA. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

we had one but sold it. i didn't like the trailer-felt too far away, though I liked the idea of if I fell, they'd be fine. we ended up getting seats for our bikes, which I liked better [ Reply | More

honestly, it may also have to do with size of apt. our trailer fit into our elevator but was too wide for building door. so it was a pita to take out [ Reply | More

I would look for a less populated place. We used to go for walks on the Hudson River and there were accidents there all the time, always involving a biker. you have your recreational bikers, and then you have your nutjobs who think they are in the tour de france. rollerbladers aren't much better. one actually jumped over dd once when she was about 4. scary shit [ Reply | More
