I am really upset....we live on the UWS and we have twin sons and one was accepted to a public school in Forest Hills and the other to a public school in Park Slope. And DH can't help with dropping them off, so we'll have to buy a car and I'll have to drive them all over, which I am not emotionally prepared for. It's either that or moving out of the city and I don't think I am emotionally prepared to leave Manhattan. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Don't freak out yet. Is this high school or elementary school? Don't understand how they were accepted outside of their zone in the first place. Can you put each of them on the wait list at the other school? DD got into 321's PreK in OCTOBER (meaning they started 6 weeks prior) after I kept hounding them about the wait list. [ Reply | More

A - there is no such thing a g&t prek. B- you are WAY behind the curve in dealing with this now. Those incorrect letters came out weeks ago. There is no way a Forest Hills school would take a child from Manhattan. They are full to bursting with FH kids. I know, I live here. And we don't do the G&T madness. The schools are good and everyone uses them; they are like suburban elementaries. [ Reply | More
