After 6 years of marriage, finally learned to just pretend my mother in law is completely justified in throwing temper tantrums. Saves me the energy of getting angry. What have you learned in your marriage? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I learned that my MIL will always be ignorant, judgemental, hard headed and clueless. She won't change [ Reply | More ]

At least you both agree she is out of line. Worst is when the DH thinks the mom is being totally fine. [ Reply | More ]

This is my secret... Each Monday i call my MIL to "check in" I couldn't really give a crap - usually - what's going on with her, but she is happy I called and it has reduced the tension and bitchiness... It's like an appt on my schedule, but i think she thinks I really want a closeness with her...whatever works [ Reply | More ]

I never call my MIL. My dh calls her on his way home from work about 3 times a week. We skype with her 1-2 every two weeks (so she can see dd), I don't hear a peep about me being a crappy DIL. You all hate me dont you. [ Reply | More ]

what bugs me is, whenever I do feel things are improving between us, she pulls another ridiculous tantrum and makes me hate her all over again. [ Reply | More ]
