Dear 4th grade teacher: Why do you teach us Math like we are retarded? We can memorise formulas, we do not have to keep counting little squares to figure out the area of a rectangle. We are capable of abstract thinking - signed your faithful student in D3 [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

you do realize that memorizing isn't really learning..it's temporary. Maybe she wants you to keep going over it so you can really get it and not just memorize it [ Reply | More

just do it the way they are teaching it. I can relate to your frustration though. they have this thing against rote memorization, and they refused to teach the multiplication tables until about a month before the citywide test. Then they freaked and had everyone memorize the tables. ugh. glad that's over. [ Reply | More
