Anyone with a high-scoring DC going to Gen Ed because you did not get one of your first choices? Are you worried that your child will be bored in a regular classroom or that the teachers won't be know how to keep them interested? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

we did get our first choice but are deciding on gen ed anyway. No, I'm not worried about "bored" because "bored" is not a bad thing! [ Reply | More ]

BTDT mom w/ kids in both G&T and great gen ed: Your kid will probably be fine, but it depends on your dc's temperament, your own anxiety level about this, and your teacher. BTW, being in G&T does not guarantee that your high-scoring dc will not be bored either, but I do not think occasional boredom is necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it leads a dc to taking more initiative and being more creative, IMHO. Never hurt my dcs. [ Reply | More ]
