Could an exceptionally gifted child get a free ride scholarship at a good private? (say white, say 70k income) --totally ignorant mom [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Yes, you could get financial aid at some private schools. Not based on merit, but based on HHI and assets. [ Reply | More ]

scholarships at this point (elem. school) aren't based on merit but financial need. At 70k you would def. get FA and maybe a lot of it but depends on your savings and if you own property. Our HHI is 90k and we get a lot of aid since we also have a lot of student loan debt [ Reply | More ]

if your kid is really exceptionally gifted, then no typical G&T program or private in the city will do him any good. you need to seek more specialized setting. I feel sorry for you. [ Reply | More ]
