Real Estate What if: Dh and I are finalizing plans to combine 2 apartments. Will end up with a 3 bed/3 bath with formal dining room. Still trying to decide how to use the space that was once one of the kitchens. What's your vote? The options: 1) combine with the master bath to make a large master bath with 2 sinks and sep shower and tub; 2) huge walk-in closet/dressing area; or 3) separate home office just off the master bedroom. I'm sure somewhere in those two apartments she can find a closet where they can blow out the wall a few feet and make a great storage closet. We did that, love it, but I still long for a large master bath. [ Reply | More

I'd scrap the formal dining room if you have an eat in kitchen or other eating area. I'd make the FDR an office/library and make a huge master bath with the double sink, walk in shower and separate tub [ Reply | More
