Today, I brought my ds home from 1st day of camp. He was very tired, hot and cranky. It was all together an unusual day. I was dropping him off and then going back to work. Our nanny was there and had his lunch ready. It was not a usual lunch. It was a lot of things I have never really seen him eat, so he sat down and said he didn't like his lunch. I was in the kitchen and heard the nanny say very meanly, "you should be grateful i made your lunch and just be happy and eat it" He is 3yo. I almost choked. grateful? really? maybe she usually makes him things that you don't see him eat. He should be grateful that she took the time. If he's picky around you and listens to her, than you could probably learn something [ Reply | More ]

as a parent of a 3 yo, that would bug me. You can't expect a child, esp an overtired child, to eat any lunch, much less lay a guilt trip over it! When my 3 yo is too tired to eat, I wrap up her lunch and offer it to her again after a nap. [ Reply | More ]
